CO₂ Laser Marking On PU Leather
CO₂ laser carving on leather
Products Description
Utilizing CO₂ laser marking technology is a superior and precise way to embellish leather materials with exquisite designs, patterns, or logos. This innovative technique employs a laser beam to etch the surface of the leather, resulting in lasting and robust markings. By fine-tuning the intensity and depth of the laser, CO₂ laser marking enables the creation of intricate and elaborate designs that surpass traditional methods in precision and detail. It is an environmentally friendly and cost-effective option for businesses looking to enhance their products and increase brand recognition.

1. Fumes: During the laser carving process, leather can release fumes. Proper ventilation is crucial to ensure a safe working environment. Dotslaser manufacture CO2 80w has equipped with a fume extraction system.
2. Material Variations: Different types of leather may react differently to the laser beam. It's essential to test a scrap piece of leather before carving on your final product to determine the optimal settings.
3. Depth of Engraving: Laser carving on leather typically results in a shallow carving compared to genuine leather. This is because the laser primarily interacts with the coating rather than the fabric base.

What're the differences between leather and real leather?
1. PU leather is faux leather, made from synthetic materials, and is animal-free.
2. Real leather comes from cows and develops a unique patina over time.
3. PU leather is more affordable, water-resistant, and consistent in texture, but less breathable and durable.
4. Real leather is more expensive but lasts longer and improves with age.
5. Feel the material: leather is softer and more flexible, while real leather has an imperfect grain.
leather is a synthetic item,it's produced to imitate the real leather look and its touch feelings. It is made by coating a fabric base with a layer of polyurethane, which gives it its signature leather-like texture. In contrast, real leather is made from animal hide that has been treated and processed to create a durable, high quality product.
Five Types of Leather
1. Vegan Leather
Vegan leather is often made from polyurethane, a polymer that can be made to order for any designer's whim. It can also be made from innovative and sustainable materials such as pineapple leaves, cork, apple peels, other fruit waste, and recycled plastic and used to create products that put animal skins to shame.
2. Faux Leather
Vegan leather, or faux leather, imitates actual leather by using synthetic materials or plant-based fibers like pineapple leaves, cactus, cork, and apple peels to get a similar consistency. However, the majority of vegan leather is made out of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and polyurethane (), both of which are petroleum-based plastics. But as long as the leather isn't derived from any animal products, it can be considered vegan.
3. Bonded Leather / Bicast Leather
Bicast leather is a type of synthetic leather fabric that looks similar to genuine leather. It's made from split cowhide and treated with polyurethane or vinyl coating for increased durability and water resistance. It has a glossy finish and does not patina or age like genuine leather, making it a lower-cost alternative for upholstery, bags, clothing, and other items.
4. Top Grain Leather
Top grain leather is the second-highest quality of leather among all leather types. This excludes faux leather since faux leather is technically not leather. Furthermore, among all leather types top grain leather is probably the most commonly used. This is because among all other types top grain leather offers a pristine look.
5. Full Grain Leather
Full grain leather is the strongest and most durable grade of leather available. It retains the maximum thickness, oil absorption, and natural grains from the original outer layer of the animal hide. Unlike other grades, no sanding or chemical treatments are applied before entering the tanning process.
